i was reading dweb guid from ipfs. the add command with wrap option -w generated the same hash as the one from tutorial
<abbiya>
my directory where the file is in must be different from them, right ?
clemo has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds]
<D_>
wrapping should create a "fake" directory with just the file, instead of using your filesystem
<lordcirth__>
Yeah, -w doesn't mean ../, it means make a directory including the files specified

Hey, We have a test setup where we are sharing BIM data content among users. The dream is to use the "permanent web" to save the data. The download direction is mainly one way and still it works pretty wellm but ... we have some longer delays aound every 5 to 20 minutes. It would be great to be able to explain them. Is it the default BitSwap strategy that breaks the connection or is the IPFS
<jyrkio>
network reorganizing itself once a while?

Voker57: Interesting! Where can I find more info about that?
<jyrkio>
libp2p-connection-manager: limits that will trigger the disconnection of peers..."maximum bandwidth (sent / received or both)". That sound plausible.
<postables[m]1>
jyrkio: what kind of long delays? is this the actual transfer or the inital discover process?
<postables[m]1>
if it is the discover process, you can establish a direct connection with node hosting the data and it should in theory drastically reduce the time to discover+download

postables[m]1: I have been testing the performance. The delay usually happends after downloading the data already for a while. Then it takes around a minute and everything is okay again.
<postables[m]1>
ah okay, yea what I said probably wouldn't help with that D:

<AphelionZ>
can I use DHT in the browser?
<AphelionZ>
with 0.35.x
<AphelionZ>
i keep getting the "no content routers available" error
Fessus has joined #ipfs
<AphelionZ>
maybe my problem isnt DHT at all: I just can't seem to get any content I load into one browser IPFS node to another IPFS node - local, ipfs.io, etc
<AphelionZ>
which is really weird - i swear i used to be able to add content in the browser and then request it from ipfs.io no problem
