hrm, no GaN available from my "metal" powder supplier
<Noxz>
but from reading about the production of LiH, GaN is more dense than Ga.. so technically you may be able to simply have fresh clean Ga in a container, purge it with Nitrogen in a bit, and bring up the temperature to have it react, the GaN will then sink to the bottom and fresh Ga will rise up reacting more
<Noxz>
in the semiconductor world I am sure they do alterate layers of gallium and ammonia
<Noxz>
"GaN crystals can be grown from a molten Na/Ga melt held under 100 atmospheres of pressure of N2 at 750 °C."
<Noxz>
Na/Ga forms a eutectic solution?
<Noxz>
actually, plain old Ga + NH3 apppears to be enough to get it going
<Noxz>
anywho, still reading up on that Stark effect
