<devyn>
zsh completion sometimes surprises me
<devyn>
I absent-mindedly hit TAB to complete a rake task, and it actually worked
<vigs>
zsh is magic
<devyn>
higurashi no naku koro ni was a pretty creepy show but its OP is pretty nice
<devyn>
feels kinda detective-show-y
<vigs>
haven't heard of it
<devyn>
I really liked it
<devyn>
watched it several years ago
<vigs>
I remember really liking Tantei Gakuen Q as a kid, though.
<vigs>
that was a neat detective show
<vigs>
oh, and Clamp School Detectives, although that was more romanticized/CLAMP-ified
<devyn>
well this isn't really a detective show so much as a things just get really oddly creepy in so many different ways in different arcs
<vigs>
oh
<vigs>
neat
<devyn>
typical sort of harem; guy moves to small village with a tiny school that teaches all grades and the class is pretty much all girls (maybe it *is* all girls) --
<devyn>
but anyway
<devyn>
can't remember
<devyn>
but yes, you would think it's harem
<devyn>
but then
<devyn>
like
<devyn>
every arc, some... terrible things happen
<devyn>
and sometimes they relate to each other
<devyn>
and you get to see why something happened one way in a previous arc
<devyn>
it's a really neat show
<devyn>
lots of blood and murder and devil-girls haha
<vigs>
heh
<vigs>
Yeah, I'd look it up now if it weren't for C :(
<devyn>
what's the problem
<vigs>
I have two projects, each with their own issue, lol. The harder one that I spent all day on today was chasing down a memory leak
<purr>
lol
<vigs>
no luck
<vigs>
no, purr. Not lol.
<devyn>
valgrind usually catches those
<devyn>
pretty well
* vigs
spritzes purr with a spray bottle
* purr
rrrrrrr
<vigs>
devyn: right, I ran it through that. I knew what it told me, already
<vigs>
I just don't know how to get a pointer to the thing to free it
<vigs>
unelss there're some flags in valgrind that tell me that, too
<devyn>
I dunno, there's probably some way to track the lifetime of an object so you can see where you actually have it and where you lose it
<vigs>
because I know where it's allocated. The function that frees all that memory is called occasionally, and that SEEMS like it's working, except it's really not. It leaves one of these calloc'd blocks behind.
<devyn>
I haven't used it that much though
<vigs>
yeah, I've played with valgrind a bit today
<vigs>
it's crazy cool
<vigs>
little help, but cool
<vigs>
but after a while, I wasn't sure what to even do :|
