<Radar>
There are a lot of gems in there that don't specify version dependencies
<briangonzalez>
some local/git repos may need to be commented out...
<Radar>
Bundler might be taking a long time because it's trying all the versions of all of those gems to find a match to make it happy
<briangonzalez>
so if we pin down the versions, it might go faster?
<Radar>
yes
<briangonzalez>
I never thought about that, thanks Radar!
<briangonzalez>
Does the "~>" versioning do something similar in terms of slowness?
<Radar>
briangonzalez: np. I encountered it ages ago in a gemfile that didn't lock down Rails. I saw in Bundler that it tried going through each of the Rails versions from the ancient ones up... that was fun :)
<Radar>
briangonzalez: depends on how restrictive you are with the ~>
<briangonzalez>
Radar, awesome. Can't wait to test that out.
<Radar>
Good luck!
<briangonzalez>
Thanks!

hey guys, I have a question about Gemfile.lock
<briangonzalez>
if it's present, should bundler skip over the 'Resolving dependencies...' step?

Hi there, could someone please tell me if when running `bundle install --path {location}`, from multiple Ruby versions, specifying the same location, using gems with extensions, will result in single installation of ordinary gems, and per-ruby-version installation for those that use extension? Relevant issue: https://github.com/rubygems/rubygems/pull/596 Thanks!

should you commit bundler's binstubs?
<postmodern>
rails4 seems to be encouraging this practice, but it seems kind of pointless if everyone runs `bundle install --binstubs`
