<DocScrutinizer05> Dyson vacuum, battery care instructions: "Do not store the device at <3°C after charging the battery. Do not charge the battery immediately after complete discharge, let the battery cool down first. The device normal operation and the charging process will shut down at temperatures <3°C, to protect motor(!?) and battery"
<DocScrutinizer05> LiIon battery
<atk> Dyson vacuums have batteries?
<atk> (handheld?)
<DocScrutinizer51> yes
<DocScrutinizer51> yes
<atk> Who knows
<DocScrutinizer51> hm?
<atk> 3°C is an odd temperature
<DocScrutinizer51> yes
<DocScrutinizer51> perticularly interesting is the rule to not charge and thrn store below 3C

<DocScrutinizer51> a recent article in c't mag claims there are 50 different LTE bands in use worldwide
<DocScrutinizer51> fifty
<DocScrutinizer51> in Germany the plan seems to be to keep GSM for telephony fallback and go for LTE for data and VoLTE calls
<atk> Why does everyone pick different bands?
<DocScrutinizer51> a very good questiom
<DocScrutinizer51> why did USA pick 850/1900 for GSM?
<DocScrutinizer51> iirc *allegedly* their military claimed demand for one of the internationally used 900/1800
<DocScrutinizer51> why has japan different FM broadcast than Eutope, Eastern Europe yet slightly different, and Japan totally different
<DocScrutinizer51> s€why has japan/why has USA/
<DocScrutinizer51> It prolly started with Marconi :)
<atk> It sounds like a total mess.
<atk> A total irreversible mess.
<atk> Although...
<DocScrutinizer51> well, yes, LTE seems more mess than even UMTS

<DocScrutinizer05> ((great appliance)) thanks to the 'pistol' trigger (instead a regular power switch) the usage pattern is more like for a drill or battery screwdriver, which is *very* convenient since you can stop vacuum instantly when you suck a paper or whatever

<ShadowJK> As someone who recently welcomed a puppy into the house, I find myself disappointed in vaccuum cleaner performance
