I mean... it should be possible to extract the programmer and update it, but my limited attempts at unpacking have been unsuccesful so far.

Looks like some automatic binding generator included all the functions from time.h once

I suppose the python binding is requesting the stime symbol specifically from the ftd2xx library and that is why it doesn't work with LD_PRELOAD?
