<ohsix> helping someone teach a class on fusion360 (really, wrangling chairs and equipment) and they used the shell operator
<ohsix> made me doubt the courage of my convictions :D
<ohsix> when i was workign ahead i did another sketch to extrude into the part; but they just used the shell operator on the bottom face and it carved out everything to 1.2mm; all of the other features, consistent shell all the way around
<ohsix> is that kind of thing conceptually a poor fit for something like solvespace? there are some sketch features that seem really desirable too; i end up creating a lot of workplanes in solvespace that i wouldn't need in fusion

<whitequark> ohsix: no it's a good fit
<whitequark> "create a sketch by offsetting this sketch by n mm" is a desirable operator
<whitequark> and we can do it
