<d1b2>
<david.lenfesty> heck yeah, I assembled the two other boards I have parts for and they both can talk with the FUSB302
<d1b2>
<david.lenfesty> even with my hacky BGA "re-ball"
<azonenberg>
Wooo
<d1b2>
<david.lenfesty> fingers crossed I should be able to get two boards talking over PD tonight, then I can send you the most complete board
<azonenberg>
excellent
<azonenberg>
Do you have a scopehal supported instrument available you could grab some PD waveforms off and either write a decode or give to somebody else to write one?
<d1b2>
<david.lenfesty> It won't have switchable 5V (still haven't figured out the issue there) and -7V is actually -7.2V but those aren't real issues 😛
<azonenberg>
Yeah
<d1b2>
<david.lenfesty> if the DS1052E is supported then yeah
<azonenberg>
I believe all DS1000 series are supported
<d1b2>
<david.lenfesty> may need a bit of work to get working though, last time I tried I couldn't get it to work
<azonenberg>
well, now is as good a time as any :p
<azonenberg>
And yeah the LT3042 can go up to +20V and the and the LT3093 can go down to -20
<azonenberg>
although i suspect if you tried to actually feed them that high a voltage at our current draw they'd overheat
<azonenberg>
But bumping the 7V up a little bit isnt that big a deal. Long term i think i will probably want to have the probe advertise min and max allowed voltages
<azonenberg>
Which will allow hosts to have a bit more leeway in power generation
<azonenberg>
also, does your current board allow the device to report actual voltages back to the host?
<d1b2>
<david.lenfesty> I think the 0.2V just comes from selecting more standard resistor values, but yeah I didn't put a huge amount of effort into designing the power supplies, with the assumption that they'd be replaced by ones with programmable voltages "in the future" ™️
<azonenberg>
Yeah agreed
<azonenberg>
At this stage of development that's more than good enough
<d1b2>
<david.lenfesty> anyways I'm gonna take a break, I've been at this all afternoon. I'll update tonight whatever the status is
