<Hardkrash> CC1 and CC2 are both connected to the receptacle's CC1 and CC2. the receptacle is supposed to detect the cable orientation and provide power to VConn if required.
<d1b2>
<Hardkrash> CC1 is on the side of TX1
<d1b2>
<Hardkrash> The A side that is...

<Hardkrash> Ugh, so the ST part doesn't supply a VConn switch internally. but VConn should be only required on the source side...
<d1b2>
<Hardkrash> more specifically the STM32G microcontroller in the probe head.

AKL-AD1 parts are here
<azonenberg>
Either digikey screwed up, or the SKU i ordered for the SMPM bullet is actually for a five-pack and not one connector
<azonenberg>
because i got two five packs, not two connectors
<azonenberg>
OK so initial feedback on the SMPM... they come in two varieties
<azonenberg>
smooth and "full detent"
<azonenberg>
I should not use "full detent" for both sides of al ink
<azonenberg>
because if i do, the pull-out force is the same for both sides
<azonenberg>
and the bullet could end up on either side
<azonenberg>
If I use FD on, say, the amplifier and smooth on the probe that won't happen
<azonenberg>
It's fine for the initial prototype, but something to keep in mind for the next iteration
<azonenberg>
actually, on second thought i might just order a smooth one anyway, digikey shipping will easily get here before the probe pcb does

azonenberg, I have spent few hours to build glscopeclient on Windows10 and it is a total mess with gtkmm which is totally bloatee

CAM review came back from the AKL-PT2

Going back and forth with the fab to make sure everything turns out right
<azonenberg>
This is why i like working with this fab instead of cheap ones

yeah multech kicks ass
<azonenberg>
item 3 i'm especially impressed by. they actually paid attention to where (in both the gerber outline and fab notes file) I clearly stated a maximum thickness for the board fitting into the edge launch connector
<azonenberg>
they noticed that with the coverlay adhesive and a few other things, the edge of the tolerance band with my suggested stiffener would be out of spec
<azonenberg>
and suggested a slightly thinner stiffener to compensate
<lain>
ooo
