<mercora> thats right, maybe i damaged something? i could only find a spec cheat for a device with another revision and i tried few things ...
<mercora> i also found there are 2 pairs of pins that get meh there
<mercora> the chip has 2 luns maybe i need to short both at the same time ?
<Bludot> you shouldn't have to. you might want to ask on the forums. no one is ever really here
<Bludot> also... im no expert. don't even have a radxa. i have a rockchip based device that im developing on.
<mercora> sry, i dont hav either, just thought to find some expert here ^^
<Bludot> bricked that one in 30 min lol... but i got it working again with an sd that brought it to maskrom mode.
<Bludot> oh... try this:
<Bludot> that might do it
<Bludot> your radxa should still boot to sd card
<mercora> it did once! totally forgot about that :D
<mercora> sorry i dont have a radxa device
<mercora> mk809III
<Bludot> ah.
<mercora> but booting from sdcard worked just fine
<mercora> i will try this
<Bludot> i have a lenovo a10 that no one has developed on yet. I must be the first
<Bludot> got ubuntu to boot on mine but no wifi.. and the kernel is being a bitch. not to mention my ubuntu kicked the bucket so i had to lose everything and reinstall
<mercora> :D i tried, i find it quite mess... its really hard to find outwhat to do event though there are people knowing it ... i mean fixes neede for the kernels and stuff like that
<Bludot> tell me about it. I didn't even have a deconfig to start with (but lenovo was nice enough to give the kernel source)
<mercora> i.e i compiled the radxa kernel which also didnt work with wifi and other things ... it seemed like there was support for the wireless chip ... i had compiled the drivers and some other things i cant remember anymore ... i wasnt able to get it working ... and before i further investigated it bricked ...
<Bludot> oh.. you need to get the kernel for your device. the radxa wont work
<Bludot> search for kernel source code for your device
<Bludot> or visit the devices manufactures site and they might provide the source
<mercora> im not aboslutely sure but i think they are mostly base off the same source... it might be some gpio configuration or something
<mercora> the kernel bootet fine but without wifi support
<Bludot> ah
<Bludot> yeah its useless without wifi
<mercora> the kernel config had a setting for mx chipset
<mercora> this setting was inserted by rockchip it seemed
<mercora> so i thought it might be generic enough
<mercora> could also be that android code must be adopted to make it work
<Bludot> my issue is: i compiled it once... but i guess I forgot what i did... so now i get this annoying blueberry_bat error
<mercora> i wish i could find out because it was actually somewhat enjoyable to dig around that :D
<Bludot> get any headaches yet?
<mercora> i havent done much ...
<mercora> 3 days after i got it it broke
<mercora> so sad :D
<Bludot> lol... try the sdcard yet?
<mercora> nope backing it up ...
<mercora> takes a while ...
<Bludot> you did make backups of the images right?
<mercora> you mean of the stock firmware ?
<Bludot> yeah
<mercora> no and realised it seconds after it was too late
<Bludot> the kernel partition, system, user, data, etx
<Bludot> oh
<Bludot> that sucks
<mercora> others are easily abale to adapt kernels for whatever wifi
<mercora> but i could find anywhere what they do to achieve it
<mercora> i guess i should start writing on forums again :S
<mercora> *could not
FreezingCold has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<Bludot> well... usually if you have the source for the device, you compile the kernel and make sure you compile the wifi driver as a module
<mercora> sure but seemingly not enugh :D
<Bludot> then you compile modules and move them to a folder on the ubuntu system
<mercora> i bet oon gpio issue but i dont know
<mercora> maybe the kernel of radxa is configured for different wiring or something
<mercora> im not that experienced in stuff like this :D
<Bludot> it probably is
<Bludot> me either. I can program but I haven't messed with the source code yet
<mercora> i hoped this would get me some kernel hacking skills over time ^^
<mercora> it may will, hope isnt gone yet :D
<Bludot> do you program?
<mercora> yes i do for a living in germany :D
<Bludot> lol.. i speak german (can't write so well) my mother is german
<Bludot> got dual-citizenship
<Bludot> i live in america
<Bludot> what do you program in?
<mercora> depends, but in office hours mostly java ...
<mercora> currently ive fun with go :D
<Bludot> cool. im still in school (college)
<Bludot> you can type german if its easier for you. I can read it just fine ;)
<mercora> never went to a collage, also aborted all school activities since i was 16 :S im about to redo tall of it in near future
<Bludot> ah. so you did a praticum?
<mercora> oh no english is fine, i guess its also the channels language and i tend to respect that :D
<mercora> i did some... i got my first job after one ^^
<Bludot> in america its alot harder. im ahead of the game cause I got lucky and got an internship (unpaid :( )
<mercora> ive the feeling, espcially in germany, its hard to be invited prove any skill if you dont have proper paperwork
<mercora> damn i hoped it would be easier xD
<Bludot> yeah. thats true
<Bludot> mercora: nope. right now though (since i got real lucky with the intern) i was able to get a job
<Bludot> now I have two
<mercora> nice! :D
<Bludot> gotta pay for college. $2,000 every semester D:
<mercora> oh, in germany its "nearly" free
<mercora> thats actually really nice :D
<Bludot> that just about makes up everything i make. mercora tell me about it
<Bludot> come august (ill graduate in spring) im going to start to apply for jobs
<Bludot> hopefully i can get one in germany since i have dual-citizenship, it should be no problem with the hiring
<mercora> there are even people that are fake studying to get some benefits like a discount on transit tickets
<Bludot> my sister is studying in germany this year
<Bludot> lol... love the public transportation
<Bludot> what about herz4?
<Bludot> hertz4
<Bludot> think its called that...something like that
<Bludot> people have been abusing it
<mercora> you cant get it while studying but you have other options like bafög which is basically a credit to spcal conditions
<mercora> hartz4 actually or ALGII - Arbeitslosengeld 2
<Bludot> my sister applied for baforg but she didn't get much :(
<mercora> she can also apply at kfw for a credit
<Bludot> whats that?
<mercora> but isnt that much either
<Bludot> well.. shes going with a program now. she gets a bit more security i guess
<Bludot> so if anything happens, she wont get stuck with no money in germany
<mercora> seems like a good thine :D
<mercora> *thing
<Bludot> yeah.
FreezingCold has joined #radxa
<mercora> you have family here or will she be alone ?
<Bludot> she will be alone but we know alot of people in germany
<Bludot> she will be in hamburg and theres and old school friend of my mothers who is there
<Bludot> berlin isnt that far either
<mercora> should make up for a good base ^^
<Bludot> yup
<mercora> yep like 3 hours or something
<mercora> im living in berlin :D
<Bludot> we have an apartment in berlin
<Bludot> ;P
<Bludot> i was there for two weeks this year. usually im there for two months
<Bludot> but the people at work couldn't let me go :(
<mercora> wish i had an aparmatent somehwere ^^
<Bludot> living with your parents?
<mercora> i mean somewher elese
<mercora> :d
<Bludot> oh
<Bludot> i still live with my parents..
<mercora> nothing wrong with that :D
<Bludot> cant make enough money and everything is expensive here
<Bludot> eh.. my parents want me to hurry up with college and move out.
<mercora> haha
<Bludot> they wouldn't just kick me out of course. they just want their time alone again.
<mercora> enough of role model function :P
<Bludot> haha
<mercora> sure, thats also fine ^^
<mercora> ehere in us do you live ?
<Bludot> florida i hate it
<Bludot> but my mother loves it. its way too hot here
<mercora> wonder if there is some region where everybody agrees they have awesome weather all the time :P
<Bludot> don't think so. theres always something
<mercora> its always to hot, cold, rainy, dark whatever *G*
<mercora> but i think hotness is pretty exhausting
<mercora> rain is not
<mercora> so thats somewhat mor terrible :P
<Bludot> hotness is terrible. you can only take off so much before its illegal
<Bludot> with cold weather you can always layer up
<mercora> very true
<Bludot> omg... some guy just made a stupid statement
<mercora> i actually think the eather in germany isnt that bad its quite in the middle without beeing extreme
<Bludot> i agree
<Bludot> Asterfield> The more I use jQuery, the more amazed I am with the robustness of this tool
<Bludot> 8:44 PM <•CoJaBo> The more I use JS, the more I am frustrated by the slowness of JS

<Bludot> web stuff.. CoJaBo made a stupid statement.
<Bludot> jQuery is made of javascript
<Bludot> so how can jQuery be faster than javascript.
<Bludot> lol people are sometimes stupid
<mercora> xD
<mercora> dependeng on what he does and espcially how jquery could have better implementation that what he could come upo eith
<mercora> but i think you are right and he is a bit clueless :D
<mercora> what qre you programming in ?
<Bludot> well..im a guy who hates using API's because people tend to become dependent on them and then don't really know what they are doing
<Bludot> mainly: javascript, php, nodejs
<Bludot> im a web developer. I know C, C++, and am trying to get into java
<mercora> i hate java, really
<mercora> its such an anoying language
<mercora> (still like my job, somehow)
<Bludot> people are saying they hate java and i have this one friend who loves java..
<mercora> well, does he jnow something else ? :P
<Bludot> ooo this will be fun
<Bludot> about to crush some guys dream about jQuery :D

<mercora> i did and lurked ;D
<Bludot> :P
<mhoney> is there a sd bootable debian image anywhere to be found?
<mercora> i think you would just have to replace the rootfs
<mercora> you can obtain one with debootstrap
<Bludot> dont know. make sure you get one for arm devices
<Bludot> the ubuntu image from radxa worked for me. I just used my own kernel
<mercora> debootstrap can be done for foreign architectures... you just need to chroot in afterwards and complete the process on the arch
<Bludot> ah. never did bootstrap before
