mgorny: yes, I've been thinking about that too, it sounds like a good plan

I just merged a faster divmod implementation for rbigints, which in particular makes str(huge number) faster (the complexity changed, so in theory the speedup is arbitrarily large, if you make the number big enough ;-) )
