<aw-> freemint: uClinux is not Linux
<aw-> it's an alternative OS similar to Linux, it's not "Linux" as we know it, so yes Linux does require an MMU
<aw-> i was aware of uClinux.. that's not what i was thinking about when I wrote "linux needs an mmu"

<Regenaxer> Ah, I think I found it! It was a stack check problem in 'journal'
<Regenaxer> The funny thing is that I fixed it already without being aware of it
<Regenaxer> I thought "a stack check here would be good style" ;)
<Regenaxer> And the bug not showing up after that I attributed to its Heisenbug nature
<Regenaxer> Released new versions of PicoLisp and of PilBox
<Regenaxer> (the bug showed up in PilBox, only in coroutines)
<tankf33der> sounds good, as usual
<Regenaxer> Thanks :)
<razzy> hi all :]

<freemint> Hello does anybody have thoughts on detecting mobile sites and push different content then? I would refrain for js if possible
<Regenaxer> Hi razzy, freemint
<Regenaxer> freemint, perhaps JS is not needed
<Regenaxer> Just analyze the User Agent
<Regenaxer> In pil in the global *Agent
<freemint> you would go with server side detection and generating fitting content there?
<freemint> (i am currently asking around in a web dev chat and they advise against that)
<freemint> Regenaxer, at least the user agent analyzation is stronlgy advised against by mozilla. They claim it breaks to easily-
<freemint> the approach i pitteched was provide serveral templates which should work for mobile, desktop and tablet each and have the user decide themselves.
<freemint> there used to be discussions around it and a very well known ux researcher proposed that as the only solution, he was shot down hardly and never heard of again :)
<freemint> given all the different sizes of phones/tablets/laptops it's better to just break the layout when it "breaks"
<freemint> it's all possible, I don't really have the time to argue this. Just trust in the thousands of devs that have investigated time in this
<freemint> was the o-ton
<freemint> recommendations where use a css framework and let that handle content placement for you
<freemint> What are your thoughts?
<Regenaxer> I have not thought about that
<freemint> ok ich werde dann ein bisschen ohne Richtung hin und her irren
<Regenaxer> yep, research a bit
<Regenaxer> guts Nächtle
<freemint> *search a bit
<freemint> Schlaf gut
