<avsm> it has a heuristic that adds foo.syntax to the camlp4 lines
<arjunguha> 0.4.4
<arjunguha> not new enough?
<avsm> yeah, should just work. cstruct's oasis has nothing special in it
<avsm> (that is, _tags doesnt need to be changed manually)
<arjunguha> hmm
<avsm> or META
<arjunguha> it almost works
<arjunguha> i actually depend on ipaddr and ulex
<avsm> Ohhhh
<avsm> this is in the camlp4 extension
<avsm> argh
<arjunguha> manually mucking with ipaddr works
<arjunguha> yes yes
<avsm> yes, err, less happy
<avsm> that's why cow has a somewhat homebrew build system :-)
<avsm> hm
<arjunguha> ulex still gives a link error when i try to use the extension
<avsm> manually editing the META file is probably the easiest short term fix
<avsm> and be careful not to regenerate oasis without resyncing it
<arjunguha> yep :)

<travisbrady> Anyone know if it’s possible to pass a 2D bigarray to a C function that takes a double ** (and then indexes into it as: matrix[i][j]) without copying?
<tane> indexing double** as [i][j] doesn't really make sense
<travisbrady> I know, but I’m binding to a 3rd party library and that’s what it does.
<travisbrady> I’ve actually considered forking it and rewriting all of that so it uses a flat layout, but it would be time consuming.

<nojb> Is there a way to tell lambda-term not to erase the line before printing the read-line prompt ?
arjunguha has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<Drup> nojb: it's a bit vague, but it you only do printing, it shouldn't erase anything
arjunguha has joined #ocaml
<Drup> see utop for example, it doesn't erase previous lines
<nojb> Drup: that is because utop always prints the type of the expressoin *and then prints a newline*
<nojb> I am printing something that may not end with a newline, in which case the prompt gets printed on top
<Drup> check if last char is a new line and add a newline if not ?
<Drup> also, which code are you using ? there are lots of way to print stuff in lambda-term, both very low and high level
jonludlam has joined #ocaml
<nojb> I am using LTerm.print* together with LTerm_read_line
<nojb> I would rather not add anything to the output, but I don't mind if the prompt gets shifted out of place ...
<Drup> shifted prompt T___T

<nojb> another lambda-term question: how am I supposed to do standard input when using LTerm_read_line? Using Pervasives.read_line messes everything up ...
scriptdevil has joined #ocaml
<Drup> huh, why would you want standard input ? LTerm_read_line handles the input for you ...
troutwine_away is now known as troutwine
<nojb> Because it is a repl for a scripting language and I don't want the interpreter to know anything about lambda-term which is only concerned with the interface ...
<Drup> then make the interpreter take a string.
<Drup> no reason to use standard input
<nojb> the point is that I do not know when the script might require input - right now it seems that 1) I have to make the interpreter 1) use lambda-term directly, or 2) get out of the execution loop, read the input using lambda-term and then pass it back to the script somehow ...
arj has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
<Drup> oh, you want to support standard input *in the script you are executing*
<nojb> Anyway, it's no big deal - for now I can just use lambda-term directly
<Drup> ok, right

<Drup> just look at how utop does it
<Drup> You're using LTerm_read_line.term, right ?

<madroach> Your tun interface doesn't need any ip. Linux bridging is a bit difficult, because it won't assign IPs to the member interfaces. Instead the bridge interface acts as a virtual ethernet interface.
<madroach> I guess your eth0 gets its ip assigned by dhcp.
<Guest57088> that is right
<Guest57088> eth0 has its ip assigned by dhcp
<madroach> Try running dhclient on bridge0 after setting up the bridge.
<madroach> then your internet connection should prevail.
<Guest57088> should I keep eth0 ip, or release it?
<madroach> release it.
Gonzih has joined #ocaml

<madroach> think of the bride as ethernet hub/switch. You won't configure IPs on your switch either.
<Guest57088> that is right.
<Guest57088> but I am thinking of the guest app and server as two machines connected through interfaces that want ot communicate on tcp/ip level
<Guest57088> so, what would be the dest ip for the socket in client app?
<madroach> the ip your bridge0 gets assigned by dhcp
<Guest57088> oh, got it
