it took us unbearably long to get layout going, layouters savvy and professional on KiCad are really hard to find, and then 90% of those you find are overwhelmed by the project's complexity
<Joerg-Neo900>
but finally we found best guy metacollin
<Joerg-Neo900>
on a maybe interesting sidenote: we are giving transferwise a second try. Looking good so far, possibly this qualifies for a viable payment method for our "poor"*) US-based folks
<Joerg-Neo900>
*) suffering from an unbearably weird and nasty bank system
<Joerg-Neo900>
banks who think "SWIFT" was a dirty word
<Joerg-Neo900>
who think fees of 50 bucks for a simple transatlantic money transfer were all OK
<Joerg-Neo900>
heck, in europe the mamangers of those banks would probably do time in jail for robbery
<Joerg-Neo900>
but when POTUS thinks imports should get taxed by 30%, a fee of a humble 50 bucks for a money transfer abroad is probably rather mandatory than a crime

Hi, Joerg-Neo900. I live and work in France, but am paid in the US. I've
<jkepler_>
But, as good as transferwise's service is, it doesn't beat the cheap fees using bitcoin to move my money between my US and French banks.
<jkepler_>
used transferwise a few times, and I have colleagues who've also used it. Its simple, straightforward, and their transparent exchange rates (you get the rate they quote you) and 1% fee is refreshing after international wires costing me 40 USD in the states, and another 33 EUR to receive at my bank here in France - ballpark 70 USD!
