<[TheBug]>
did you then reencode the file to a .scr?
<[TheBug]>
once you updated it?
<[TheBug]>
you will see two files there, one .cmd one .scr, you will be able to read the .cmd and not the .scr, so you update the .cmd and then encode to .scr...
<sunshavi>
Yes. I did. It did not but. Just showed the four pinguins.
<[TheBug]>
also what you have in that pastebin looks to be an exact copy of what was there
<[TheBug]>
I am a bit confused?
<[TheBug]>
from and to in that paste are identical
<[TheBug]>
so were you just updating uuid?
<sunshavi>
My fault. the orig. was this one setenv bootargs console=${console} root=PARTUUID=${uuid} rw rootwait cma=256M nokaslr
<[TheBug]>
sunshavi: are you using mainline or legacy?
<[TheBug]>
that shows examples for both, your gonna change root to be your root device
<[TheBug]>
so if the sata
<[TheBug]>
/dev/sda1
<[TheBug]>
etc
<[TheBug]>
I know uuid can probably be used as well, at least I have seen it in other implementations, but I am not sure of its use in this case, I would instead just use the device name and see if you get different results
<DuClare>
What are the most interesting SBCs for 2020?
<[TheBug]>
also that wiki article includes the command to encode from cmd to scr if you weren't sure of it
<sunshavi>
TheBug: I am going to try with /dev/sda1 and see how it goes
<[TheBug]>
DuClare: depends on your use case very much
<sunshavi>
no problem with mkimage
<[TheBug]>
Ther are a lot of good boards out there anymore, in the allwinner world I am still on board with H3, haven't really messed with H6 my self... and not sure I am so excited for H313 I think it is or whatever that next gen chip is..
<[TheBug]>
overall, there are probably a few more exciting boards out there though, in the amlogic and rockchip world
<[TheBug]>
Nano PI M4 has kept my interested because of all the hats, but haven't been able to pull the trigger on getting one
<[TheBug]>
DuClare: what are your opinions on interesting boards?

<DuClare>
Oh, I don't know if I have opinions much. Last year I was thinking of buying a few rockpro64s -- those look quite powerful and versatile -- but I got busy & distracted by other stuff and never made it so far. Now I'm kinda getting the itch again but I'm curious if there are solid new boards around that I've overlooked.
<DuClare>
(Also looks like Pine Mircosystems Inc. was dissolved earlier this year..)

[TheBug], I'm happy with the C4 for RPI like uses and I am hoping for some A35 quad based board for low end stuff. Maybe an H6 like chip with A55 instead?

(wait, what? Pine is still giving status updates and stuff, and still shipping hardware. if there was a corporate entity dissolved I'm sure it was just some sort of restructuring. I don't recall hearing about that.)

Irenes[m]: I get the impression they moved from US to Hong Kong or something. Not sure what it implies in practice, if anything at all.
