hi, I'm using mali-blobs in kernel 5.0. When I start wayland compositor and then any application as normal user I get ioctl(8, DRM_IOCTL_GEM_FLINK, 0xbebb7140) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied). It works as root. Any ideas?
<gnarface>
add yourself to the video group?
<gnarface>
just guessing
<elros1>
yes, and there is no problem with opening /dev/dri/card0
<elros1>
I never tried it earlier. It works when I start application as a root
<gnarface>
it might be a limitation of the driver for all i know
<gnarface>
or a bug
<gnarface>
all i could suggest is to check the module options, or try a different one
<elros1>
THere no other versions of libMali.so in bootlin. By module options you mean mali kernel module options?
<gnarface>
yea that's what i meant
<gnarface>
if there are any
<elros1>
ok thanks
<gnarface>
sometimes they might control device permissions or mode
<gnarface>
but with Xorg anyway, some drivers just still need to be launched with the suid root wrapper. i wouldn't be surprised if it was the same way for wayland too
<gnarface>
there might be an alternate driver for that in some semi-functional state
<elros1>
I know about lima but I couldn't make it work with 5.2rc. I will try again when 5.2 will be stable

montjoie, And linux had already been partched? I wonder why uboot didn't pick that up as well.

<montjoie>
willmore: the DLDO3 used by uboot is in config not in dtb
<montjoie>
willmore: ATF seems to sue dtb for that
<willmore>
Ohh, okay, sorry, I'm not very familiar with uboot.
<willmore>
Unified boot, huh? ;)
<montjoie>
anyway the bpim3 is now up and running and ready for kernelci

who thought calling something dldo was a good idea?
<wens>
montjoie: there is a sun8i-h3-libretech-all-h3-cc in baylibre lab that has the SoC listed as alliwinnder. Is that something you could fix?
<SopaXorzTaker>
There's some "suxni" strings in the u-boot config in one repo, too.
<montjoie>
wens: I have sent a fixes month ago, but we need a db cleaning of old report

Hello, I have a A20 Board with Sunxi Kernel. On Bootup it goes to the date 2010-01-01. Is there a way to e.g. adjust this to 2019-01-01?
<KotCzarny>
yes, ntpdate
<kilobyte>
only by some kind of statup script
<KotCzarny>
or rc.local
tnovotny has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<kilobyte>
with ntp strongly recommended, yeah
tuxillo has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<montjoie>
ntp more than strongly recommanded, it is mandatory
<kilobyte>
for an always-networked machine, yeah. For something stand-alone, on the other hand...
<kilobyte_ch>
The issue is that the A20 Board I'm using has a little Super cap. But it just holds the charge to run the RTC ~2 days. Thus it can be that I boot with correct time, but it's also possible that I boot with 2010...
<kilobyte_ch>
Additionally I have some software which doesn't like to get thrown from 2010 directly to 2019.
<kilobyte_ch>
But I think the only proper way to solve this is to fix this garbage software to not do bullshit if the time changes.

best is to put something in initrd
<KotCzarny>
before files are touched
<KotCzarny>
or just add rtc
