micken: depends where you want to return too, and how you entered.
<maz>
micken: if you entered via an SMC, you must do an exception return. You can choose where to return to by changing SPSR.
<maz>
micken: if you entered monitor by just changing the mode, you can exit it by doing the same thing.

hi guys, on 4.14+, when i plug an USB3 device on the USB3 port, it's seen as a 480MB device ( on the rockchip 4.4 it's seen correctly as a 5G device) on a sapphire rk3399
<Pix>
are you aware of something around that ?

Pix: yes, USB3 is not supported yet in 4.14+, you need some patches that are already send to the ML. But there is still some problems around suspend/resume
<Pix>
Oooh
<Pix>
ok
<Pix>
i can wait :)
<Pix>
if the issue is known, it's good enough (i'm no developper, can't do more than tests & reports)

eballetbo: is that specific to the sapphire board? I definitely have some form of USB3 running on kevin (at least I see the xhci driver picking up my ethernet adapter).
<maz>
Pix: yes, I see what you mean. it's been picked as high-speed, and not whatever fancy name they have for full blast usb3 goodness.
<Pix>
yup
<Pix>
"super speed"
<Pix>
:)
<maz>
yeah, whatever ;-)
<Pix>
can't wait for the next name
<Pix>
:p
<maz>
bah. I'm fine with that kind of speed. if only I could rip out the stupid wifi chip and replace it with proper mass storage, *that* would be an improvement.
<gab>
"bazinga speed"
<mmind00>
maz: I do think the pcie-wifi is mounted in a slot, so it _could_ be replaced ;-)
moondeck[m] has left #linux-rockchip ["User left"]
<maz>
mmind00: last time I looked, it was soldered down on the PCB (this is kevin).
<maz>
mmind00: don't give me that kind of hope ;-)
<mmind00>
maz: bah ... me and my memory ... the slotted one was the Gru development model
<maz>
mmind00: makes sense.

maz, which wifi chip has kevin? do you know about bob? (it's kind of funny that sound like we are talking about people)

<maz>
adj_: kevin has some Marvell thing (using the mwiflex_pcie driver).
<adj_>
does it needs that the OS loads a firmware?
<adj_>
a proprietary firmware, I mean
<maz>
adj_: yup. and it's not that reliable.
