maz: ooi, did you indentify which clocks/supplies are dead on resume?
SleepyMario has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<maz>
eballetbo: nope. pretty busy with the security stuff atm, so I had to put the toys on the back burner.
<eballetbo>
maz: ok, I'm not sure it's a clock problem, well I need to dig a bit more
<maz>
eballetbo: it'd be interesting to be able to snapshot the clock and PS state from the HW before suspend, and compare it with its state after resume. that would help ruling it out.
<maz>
eballetbo: I'm not sure if there is some facilities for that already.
<eballetbo>
maz: yeah that's what I did for clocks, a first comparison doesn't show differences, well some clocks are disabled but that is a consequence. The driver first fails and then disables the clocks.
<eballetbo>
about the supplies I think that I can add always-on in the dt to quickly test
<maz>
eballetbo: there also seem to be some ordering problem between SPI and the EC. not sure if that has an impact.
<eballetbo>
I don't think is related as that issue seems random for me.
<eballetbo>
but yes there is also something there
<maz>
eballetbo: have you followed the USBC stuff? what is missing there?

maz: it's more or less working but not merged yet, most of the patches are already in linux-next but not in mainline.

maz: omg, I just noticed that "grf" clock is missing in the DT definition, aarght, that solves the issue. Now the problem is that backlight doesn't recovers to the state before suspend, but that's another issue
<maz>
eballetbo: great find! yes, I know about that backlight issue too, and I wonder if that's connected to the SPI resume race (if you set the backlight to zero and back to some value after resume, it's OK).
<eballetbo>
yep, that could be related
<maz>
eballetbo: of course, that's assuming the backlight is controlled over SPI...

<eballetbo>
it is for kevin, iirc it's cros-ec-pwm
<maz>
eballetbo: yup. so we need to establish whether we loose something while talking to the EC itself (which would be in the SPI driver), or whether this is in some other part of the EC driver...
<maz>
eballetbo: if you post a patch for the missing clock, feel free to cc me.
