I have a bricked RK3229 device unbranded and would like to get it to come back alive

It got the M9 board

on the pcb, near the eMMC, you'll find two test pins

shortcut them, plug dc-in, plug usb, and you'll be in "maskrom" mode

how does it look like this test pins

im sorry but I am no expert to these stuff. Been trying to shortpin them on 7/8 on NAND and it does work

but putting an sdcard in seems to work and boot up to rom recovery. Just that I cant do anything more in rom recovery mode

do you have an original rom?

what sort of device is it? tvbox? tablet?

the build version with date 2016.10.10 on rockchip does not exist

possibly just flashing some random rk3229 tvbox firmware would work...

tim_: well, what you can do is backup your current emmc with upgrade_tool

and then flash some other rk3229's firmware

i used to flash the rbox rom with 2GB ram to it and it works just fine. all WIFI, BT are working correctly

The box does look exactly like the RBOX

with the bluelight up front but no digital clock display

can't you just flash back the rbox firmware?

now the box is bricked and PC will not reconized the box no longer, unless I plug in SDCARD with the boot firmware (incorrect one that gets me to recovy page only)

then PC will reconized the device, but when try flahing it endedup reading through SDCARD not my NAND

any quick solution on this one?

ok, so unplug the sdcard, short the two nand pins, power on, you'll get maskrom, and when flashing it will flash internal storage not sdcard

where would that two nand pins located?
