<rperier>
does u-boot work for you on rk3288 from an sdcard ? (either 2017.01-rc1 or 2016.11) the SPL is started but not u-boot (I have just followed doc/README.rockchip)
<mmind00>
rperier: not sure ... but when I converted my firefly, the original method also didn't really work for whatever reason ... you can use the "back_to_bootrom" variant though
<mmind00>
rperier: i.e. the standard mechanism is to have the spl include code to drive the mmc hosts, while the bootrom method simply hands control back to the bootrom to let it do the loading
<mmind00>
rperier: what might happen in your case is, that uboot tries to load the second loader from the emmc instead of your sd-card
