Morning ... i came across the rockchip repo when browsing for RK3399 information
<LongWork>
i saw that there was some wrapped for vaapi and i had a few questions
<LongWork>
did anyone tested that with mpv ?
<LongWork>
is vaapi library going to support anything else than h264 ?
<phh>
It doesn't work with mpv
<phh>
I've seen it work only with vlc and chromium
<phh>
There is no short term hope for other things than h264, you'll have to switch to gstreamer
<phh>
And I think gstreamer only does h264/265
<phh>
(support for mpv possibly is easy)

When I use gstreamer-vaapi and libva-rockchip to loop a video, I found a memory leak, maybe the libva-rockchip cause this? can anyone give me some help?

I want to know whether the libva-rockchip-0.13-2 caused this <stdint>
<stdint>
geekerlw, then I don't know
<geekerlw>
stdint, I found gstreamer-rockchip and mpp on rockchip's github, but I can't compile it success!
<stdint>
geekerlw, why, you could tell me, they are what I am developing at debian stretch
<geekerlw>
stdint, ok, I will request it soon

<Guest33281>
we found this phenomenon too(memory leak), when we try to play a video using gstreamer and libva-rockchip-0.13-2 in platfrom rk3288
<Guest33281>
stdint, is there a temporary solution to solve this problem?
<stdint>
Guest33281, no, libva-rockchip won't be supported anymore
<stdint>
and I never used it
<wadim_>
stdint: you say, libva for rk will be not longer supported. Can you tell me more about future plans for vpu support?
<stdint>
wadim_, use gstreamer-rockchip for this stage
<stdint>
and back to v4l2 solution later
<rperier>
what is gstreamer-rockchip ? a fork of gstreamer by rockchip ? :/
<rperier>
(or that's the name of the repo perhaps ?)
