<paulk-collins> ayaka, oh hey
<paulk-collins> ayaka, I see that you've sent some patches fixing rk3288 USB
<ayaka> paulk-collins, but not for rk3399
<paulk-collins> ayaka, right
<paulk-collins> ayaka, I have serious USB issues with veyrons
<paulk-collins> libv, that Samsung Chromebook Pro comes with a Mali-T ;)
<paulk-collins> libv, and has coreboot support
<paulk-collins> ayaka, basically, I'm trying to get an ath9k_htc wifi dongle to work on veyrons
<paulk-collins> ayaka, and after a short while, it just stops working
<paulk-collins> ayaka, that's with unpatched 4.8-rc6 or so
<ayaka> paulk-collins, it is a usb wireless dongle?
<paulk-collins> ayaka, yes
<ayaka> paulk-collins, but how does it work without been patched?
<paulk-collins> ayaka, it works for a few minutes
<paulk-collins> then just stops responding
cnxsoft has quit [Quit: cnxsoft]
<ayaka> paulk-collins, which port do you connect ?
<ayaka> otg ?
<paulk-collins> ayaka, one of the two on the side, I don't know which they are
<paulk-collins> lemme investigate
<paulk-collins> ayaka, looks like HOST1 and OTG are used
<paulk-collins> ayaka, but apparently, host0 is also used
<paulk-collins> ayaka, one of these must be the internal one used for the webcam
<ayaka> paulk-collins, in my memory, the host1 is just have ehci
<paulk-collins> ayaka, from the rk3288 dtsi, it looks like host0 is ehci and host1/otg are dwc2
<ayaka> yes
<paulk-collins> I'll try to figure out which I'm using (but from memory, I'm nearly sure it's dwc2)
<ayaka> the ohci won't work, it only support 2.0 high speed
<paulk-collins> ayaka, right
<paulk-collins> ayaka, but I doubt it's using usb 1
<paulk-collins> (the wifi dongle)
<ayaka> but without that patch how does it work?
<paulk-collins> ayaka, yeah it's definitely using dwc2 on the side connectors
<paulk-collins> ayaka, it doesn't work
<paulk-collins> ayaka, but the patches don't fix the issue
<ayaka> "that's with unpatched 4.8-rc6"
<paulk-collins> ayaka, yes, it happens both with unpatches and with your series
<ayaka> sorry, I though you have not patched it yet
<paulk-collins> unpatched*
<paulk-collins> at least, your series doesn't introduce the issue
<ayaka> paulk-collins, then I know what it happened
<ayaka> do you try to disable power save of wireless dongle?
<paulk-collins> ayaka, I don't think I do
<ayaka> try it
<paulk-collins> ayaka, okay, I'll try that
<paulk-collins> ayaka, note that one the same device, it works well with the chromeos kernel

<ayaka> paulk-collins, the chromeos make usb work in the same I think
<ayaka> or disable usb suspend completely
<paulk-collins> ayaka, so it's a problem with USB suspend?
mrueg has joined #linux-rockchip
<ayaka> it could be, but in my experience, the power saving is more possible
mrueg has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<paulk-collins> ayaka, ok I'll look into it
<paulk-collins> with 4.8
mrueg has joined #linux-rockchip
<paulk-collins> ayaka, by the way, I saw that there is no upstream U-Boot SPL support for rk3368, is such support available as free software at all?
<ayaka> no, I have not any information about that board

<paulk-collins> ayaka, okay
<paulk-collins> ayaka, oh nice!
<ayaka> the gnutoo is my teacher
<paulk-collins> ayaka, I'm working a lot on chromebooks these days
<paulk-collins> ayaka, awesome, I think he told me about you!
<ayaka> if you need chromebooks I could give one to you
<paulk-collins> ayaka, I have a few veyrons around
<paulk-collins> ayaka, but don't have them all indeed!
<ayaka> I mean the rk3399 one
<paulk-collins> ayaka, that is so generous, which ones can you give out?
<paulk-collins> ayaka, great, I don't have one yet
<paulk-collins> kevin?
<ayaka> I don't know it public name
<paulk-collins> ayaka, (we can pm if you prefer)
premoboss has quit [Ping timeout: 252 seconds]
<paulk-collins> ayaka, btw, your latest USB fix series doesn't apply on v4.8
<paulk-collins> ayaka, I get error messages from the USB wireless PHY driver "ath: phy4: Mac Chip Rev 0x0f.3 is not supported by this driver"
<paulk-collins> but I don't get them all the time
<paulk-collins> sometimes it works
<paulk-collins> sometimes not
<paulk-collins> and the same driver on x86 laptop works great
