<bobbytables> So I've been following the instructions here: http://linux-exynos.org/wiki/Samsung_Chromebook_2_XE503C32/Installing_Linux
<bobbytables> Except that I'm going with the newest version of the Chromium kernel from here: https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/third_party/kernel
<bobbytables> When I get to the "make dtbs" stage, it complains that there's no make target for dtbs
<bobbytables> Is there something obvious that I'm missing?
<javier__> bobbytables: what do you mean by newest kernel? which branch?
<javier__> bobbytables: what's your goal btw?
<bobbytables> Hmm, actually now that I look back at that page I think I forgot the "./chromeos/scripts/prepareconfig chromeos-exynos5" line
<bobbytables> although I don't know fi that would help or not.
<javier__> bobbytables: yes, you will need that if you want to build the vendor tree
<javier__> I'm still not sure what's your goal is though
<bobbytables> I think I just answered my own question.
<bobbytables> But anyways, I have a SAMSUNG Chromebook 2 XE503C32 and have been working on getting Debian on it.
<bobbytables> And I thought it might be worth getting a newer kernel on it than the R40-6457.B that the install directions mention.
<bobbytables> I'm not ready to fight a mainline kernel on it yet, but I thought a newer kernel from the chromeos repsoitory might eb worth it.
<javier__> bobbytables: Ok, just remember that chromeos-3.8 is the last ChromiumOS version that has support for Exynos Chromebooks
<javier__> bobbytables: mainline works pretty well, the only peripheral that's not working is the audio (and the GPU of course)
<bobbytables> Hmm
