javier__: hey man, how are you? it seems I failed to follow your instructions to generate the u-boot partitions for my Chromebook. CB just won't boot. Do you know if it might be due to the keys I'm using? Because I've created my own keys following Fedora-ARM instructions instead of using Chrome OS' one.

<javier__>
isaque: that should work, I also use the keys provided by my distro vbutil package
<javier__>
isaque: if you were able to sign a FIT image, then the keys are working and the problem is when chain loading u-boot
<isaque>
javier__: humm, so I'm not sure what else it could be. I performed all the process you described, flashed a sdcard and then when I reboot, I press ctrl+u but it beeps just like it didn't have a valid chromeos kernel in the sdcard.
<javier__>
isaque: you have a Snow right? I assume you used the correct address 0x43E00000
<isaque>
javier__: yes, I did
<javier__>
isaque: I only have a Peach Pi here but it should be the same for Snow...
<isaque>
javier__: the only thing different is that I'm compiling directly from my CB, instead of crosscompiling, which I believe shouldn't be a problem, right?
<javier__>
isaque: it shouldn't be a problem
<javier__>
isaque: are you from Brazil? or rather, did you buy your Snow in Brazil?
<isaque>
javier__: yes, I'm from Brazil but I bought it when I visited US a couple years ago.
<javier__>
isaque: Ok, I asked because a colleage from Brazil had issues booting u-boot so I thought it could be some differences on the exact model sell there
<isaque>
javier__: oh, I see, but no, it's an US model.
<javier__>
isaque: but if you bought from the US then I don't understand why the process doesn't work for you
<isaque>
javier__: I was supecting the sdcard but then I flashed another image - arch - and it worked fine.
<javier__>
isaque: worth to ask sjoerd and others who has snow booting with mainline u-boot
<isaque>
javier__: btw, which distro are you using in CB?
<isaque>
javier__: Arch?
<javier__>
isaque: right now I'm using Fedora
<javier__>
but I've SD cards with debian and arch as well
<isaque>
javier__: that's exactly what I wanted to run
<isaque>
javier__: are you running Fedora's kernel or a custom one? I'm asking because in that case the extlinux.conf should be a little bit different, right?
<isaque>
javier__: brb

<isaque>
javier__: back
<javier__>
isaque: mainline, I use the device mostly for development
<zombah>
i also have snow bought in us, it chainloading upstream u-boot without problems
<isaque>
zombah: have you used javier__'s instructions? or have you done anything different?
<isaque>
javier__: ok, thanks man
<zombah>
isaque: i have couple different sd cards, arch peach and openSUSE Tumbleweed, but also have own script to for testing u-boot
<javier__>
at least that is what I see in my notes
<isaque>
zombah and javier__ you are awesome guys! many thanks! I'll try those later on today
<zombah>
isaque: if you have write protection removed you can replace main u-boot with custom made one with more verbose errors
<javier__>
isaque: Ok, but it should be the same commands that are listed in the OSG blog post
<isaque>
zombah: I'm not brave enough :)
<isaque>
javier__: indeed, but I really don't know what might be wrong with my setup, so I'm just trying to grab as much information as possible to investigate it
