mdrjr: I hear you're a good person to ask about the board design of the ODroid
<micolous>
hello!
<micolous>
I have an odroid U3 Revision 2, according to the schematic there's supposed to be a 0 Ohm resistor at R39
<micolous>
But it's not present on my board
<micolous>
On the Revision 5 schematic, this is crossed out
<micolous>
From my (vague) understanding of it, bridging this point will allow the unit to be powered up from the microusb socket
<micolous>
Would this be correct?
<micolous>
I'm not looking to use the port for OTG or anything like that... just I've lost the barrel-jack to USB cable I built and was looking for a better way to power it up
<micolous>
At the moment I have a couple of wires going in to pins 7 and 8 of the IO expansion port
<micolous>
But this doesn't fit in the case cleanly
<si1v3r>
That sounds like a similar raspberry pi issue
<si1v3r>
You could test for continuity between where you want to put power and where you know power will be needed to confirm it's safe.
<micolous>
Hmmm... that's a thought
