so I'm new to ipfs and playing around with pubsub on go-ipfs, docs @ https://ipfs.io/blog/25-pubsub/ I've figured out how to peer two nodes togeather and exchange messages, I'm curious about the architecture and have a couple of questions: 1. How can I get two clients to automatically peer to each other without the "ipfs swarm connect" command? is

You can make IPFS nodes peer manually via the config file, or via discovery on LAN, or rely on DHT to find them (with >300 k nodes and some 1-2 k direct peers not very likely).

If i setup a third server and peer it with the second will the second server rebroadcast messages to server3? like can I recieve pubsub messages broadcast from a connected peer > Server 1 > to Server 2 which is the only host peered with Server

I would not want to run IPFS on a router/firewall for security reasons. Unless virtualized. Even then, it would probably make more sense to have a dedicated embedded running it, something like a Raspberry Pi 4 4 GB.

A Raspberry Pi 4 with 4 GB RAM and an external USB 3.0 drive looks like the ticket for a LAN IPFS node.

The practical disadvantage is that routers are specialized devices, optimized for security and pushing lots of packets. By adding IPFS without virtualization for isolation you're increasing the attack surface.

Instead of using a low-power specialized device (like an EdgeRouter ER-X or ER-6) you're going to need a more general computer which can't deal with pushing packets very well.

And if you go into embedded space you need something better than go-ipfs.
