<jas-hacks> dv_: hi, do you know if it possible to vertically/horizontally scroll (animate) a playing video on to the screen?
<dv_> you could enable the imxeglvivsink overlay property and then periodically set the x & y coordinates
<dv_> in a few days I'll start cleaning up and improving the ipu sink to allow for things like that as well
<jas-hacks> dv_: I was thinking about x & y coordinates ... but wondering how smooth it would be?
<dv_> hm I dont know. never tried it.
<dv_> I have some other plans for doing compositions of multiple video streams
<dv_> these might allow for it as well

<jnettlet> jas-hacks, depends what output you are using. In theory you could use clutter with the egl backend and tween the video surface for smooth animations
<jas-hacks> jnettlet: i'm using the egl fb backend, so I think clutter isn't possible
<jnettlet> jas-hacks, I know COGL used to be be able to render directly to an onscreen framebuffer
<jnettlet> although I have no idea if clutter abstracts that out or not.

<jas-hacks> jnettlet: its surprising how any libraries don't have (or have broken) fb/directx support, most rely on an X11.
<jnettlet> yeah, well resources are limited so you really need to focus on one windowing environment
