<dominikh>
the emacs one got 231 hits from HN, the tools one got 12 :D either way, unpopular posts don't get a lot of traffic from HN ;)
<Netfeed>
heh, yeah, that's the way it goes if it's not about javascript or something that has to do with feminists :P
<dominikh>
:D
<dominikh>
my… second article in the "Go tip" series back then got a couple thousand, I think
<dominikh>
but yeah, I don't particularly care about HN; don't read it, either
<Netfeed>
it's a bit more "programmy" than /r/programming
<Netfeed>
i'm just curious about how much traffic a site actually get in the "smaller" reddits and sites like HN
<dominikh>
both are shit, really. the SNR on /r/programming doesn't even justify having the "S" in the abbreviation, and HN is a circle jerk
<dominikh>
heck, even if you're on page one of HN, unless it's #1 and a really popular topic, the traffic is really quite low. the best I got was a couple thousands for some stupid rant
<Netfeed>
there's some interesting stuff there, but i usually read it for the comments, the articles are usually pretty meh
<dominikh>
the comments are even worse :P
<Netfeed>
it's better there than on many other subs :)
<dominikh>
I prefer real people I actually know to send me articles to read; and then I make sure not to read comments ;)
