<Donovan>
what's the best way to get the bot to speak in a channel. Can't use m.reply, I want to send a message to the current channel regardless of the way it came in. (yes, I could look it up, but I'm lazy too)
<Donovan>
if I try to use Channel(m.channel).send('text'), I get lib/cinch/channel_list.rb:14:in `find_ensured': undefined method `irc_downcase' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError)
<Donovan>
I suspect m.channel isn't correct
<waxjar>
m.channel.send?
<Donovan>
I'll try that
<Donovan>
figured out the error was because in a private message there is no channel defined.
<Donovan>
which is how I was testing it, d'oh
<Donovan>
okay, so figured that out... but here's another question:
<Donovan>
when you receive a private message, is there any way to tell what channel the user that sent it is active in?
<Donovan>
I don't think so, but figured I would ask

well you could at least search all of the bot's channels for the user

<hofmockel>
just completed testing the "hello world". - Perfect
<hofmockel>
Now trying the plugin version
<hofmockel>
seems "match" is not matching - Am I missing something obvious?
<waxjar>
there's an implicit prefix (!)
<hofmockel>
thank you
<hofmockel>
can I help document that?
<hofmockel>
because that was not obvious and I am happy to help
<hofmockel>
Ok, I see that it is documented clearly and I need to continue to read further
<hofmockel>
thank you
