<dalias>
anyone have experience doing working printed bearings with solvespace?
<dalias>
with ball bearings i get too much play with tiny (like 0.05mm) clearances, and with 0 i get errors
<dalias>
and cant export a mesh
<whitequark>
0.01?
<dalias>
will try next
<dalias>
i had better luck with disc bearings but theyre too hard to break free without damage
<dalias>
also making bearing radius too close to exact fit for # of balls (radius of path * pi / nballs) doesnt seem to work for me; i get spurious overlap between balls
<dalias>
so i have to reduce it a bit and then they end up having like half a ball gap
<dalias>
hmm maybe the play is slicer's fault
<dalias>
if theres no slice at exactly the z value where contact should be made
<dalias>
this would explain discs being so much better
