[starshipraider] azonenberg 7ba3472 - Added engraving to top
<azonenberg>
So... enclosure top, one unit is $9.07 in MJF nylon and $89.52 in SLM aluminum
<azonenberg>
up to $11.57 if i want it in black instead of natural finish, which is what i normally do
<azonenberg>
the bottom is $28.24 in black MJF nylon and $278.35 in SLM aluminum
<azonenberg>
after tax, shipping, and priority processing fee so i don't wait 3+ weeks for the print i'm looking at $74.24 for a single complete nylon enclosure
<azonenberg>
ok, enclosures ordered. Gonna send out parts shortly
<azonenberg>
still have to fine tune ground plane layout on the main board, MMCX board is done too
<azonenberg>
havent touched the FPGA-side breakout yet
<Degi>
Huh
<Degi>
Hmm maybe the screw holes can be put on the inside, at least in the final design?
<azonenberg>
I'm probably going to make the wall thicker rather than just having humps coming out
<azonenberg>
or something like that
<Degi>
Maybe screw on top of the pcb holes
<azonenberg>
that would be tricky to align but possible
<azonenberg>
this initial design also doesnt have any shielding on the guard rings
<azonenberg>
just plastic
<azonenberg>
I want to see if it's necessary
<azonenberg>
So i think am probably going to want to make a scopehal pcie decoder at some point
<azonenberg>
i should be able to decode up to gen 1 with my current scopes and gen 3 with the one i'm looking at getting
tverbeure2 has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<Degi>
Huh, MSO5074 doesnt have SSH on port 22 and on port 871 it says "kex_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host"
<azonenberg>
your scope has ssh?
<Degi>
It had in some previous firmware apparently
<miek>
lucky, mine only has telnet :p
<miek>
oh, damn. it's been aages since i last looked at it. it's got a full vxworks debug shell - i can peek/poke, play with running tasks, etc.
<miek>
that's actually gonna be really handy for some reverse engineering i was doing of the autoprobe interface..
<Degi>
Geez my frequency counter works wirelessly
<Degi>
The cable is 30 cm away dangling in free air (basically similar to a loudspeaker cable, no coax) and it gets an accurate frequency reading. When I directly connect it, it isnt accurate
<miek>
lol, wat
<Degi>
The counter says 50 Ohm 10 mV on that input
<miek>
what's the source? is it getting loaded down too much when connected?
<Degi>
Well I guess my scope connected to the source with twisted arduino cables is emitting enough EMI
<Degi>
The amplitude is probably too high or something
<Degi>
UART seemingly dislikes PCIe spread spectrum of 4%
<azonenberg>
uarts typically need <1% clock match to work well
