yes, the OD kernel is a raw binary
<
CYB3R>
Maybe there is compiled ELF kernel which will print something to UART just so I will know that it works?

Anyone here got working ELF kernel for JZ4725B?
<
larsc>
a working kernel just for the SoC wont really get you anywhere as long as the kernel does not know about your board

larsc: I want to load it and get some output on UART, just to know it works
<
larsc>
yea, but still you have to know the ram setup etc.

<
mth>
there is a mem= kernel command line argument
<
mth>
but if jz4725b is using the 4740 kernel, then the autodetection code I added some years ago should work
<
mth>
that reads the SDRAM controller regs to get the memory size
<
CYB3R>
mth: interesting
<
CYB3R>
what exact parameters do I need to set?
<
mth>
the autodetect was added in commit 6edde02476, you can see the bits used there
<
CYB3R>
okay, I'll check it out
<
CYB3R>
mth: is it the commit in openwrt-xburst repo?
