cfbolz changed the topic of #pypy to: PyPy, the flexible snake (IRC logs: https://quodlibet.duckdns.org/irc/pypy/latest.log.html#irc-end ) | use cffi for calling C | if a pep adds a mere 25-30 [C-API] functions or so, it's a drop in the ocean (cough) - Armin

<mattip> it seems py3.6 is in no worse shape on win32 than in the previous release
<mattip> something around moving pypy/module/test_lib_pypy/test_posix_extra.py to extra_tests/test_posix_extra.py caused more errors
<mattip> but I think it only exposed errors that already existed
<mattip> this run on commit ef7d14b94311 (after the move) has 105 failures
<mattip> and this one on commit 9b1b0d93eab1 (before the move) has 95 failures
<mattip> so it remains as an exercise for the reader to figure out what error is newly exposed and how to fix it

* antocuni wonders why he needs to re-login to foss.heptapod.net so often
<lazka> antocuni, gitlab defaults to 2 week login sessions afair
<antocuni> is there a setting to make it longer?
* antocuni looks into his account
<antocuni> it seems to be a general gitlab problem: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/121569
<lazka> antocuni, but also looks like they fixed it recently: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/merge_requests/32730
<antocuni> nice! Probably we just need heptapod to be upgraded to the latest version
<lazka> but admins can restrict it still
<lazka> antocuni, this was in released in 13.2, so the heptapod update in two days should fix it :)
<antocuni> finger crossed :)
<antocuni> thanks
* lazka was annoyed by it as well

<LarstiQ> is that logging in annoying because you have to refill credentials? At work we have SSO on Gitlab so pressing "log in" doesn't feel bothersome
<antocuni> well no, I login with github
<antocuni> but it's annoying because it's yet another click I need to do

<mattip> antocuni: I didn't think you would work so fast. We can do a rc3 with hpy enabled if you want?
<antocuni> well, hpy is not fixed yet
<antocuni> this is just the rpython-side of things
<antocuni> now I have to use the new feature to fix hpy
<mattip> ok. I want to get 7.3.3 out so we can start building out pypy3.7 on conda since projects are starting to drop 3.6
<antocuni> please go on without waiting for hpy then

<mgorny> mattip: i'm sorry i didn't reply with anything significant yet; i do have the new pypy3.7 installed on my system now, and so far i haven't seen any new issues
<mgorny> i'd like to retest the packages i've reported previously, if that makes any sense but i need to find that list first ;-)
<tumbleweed> I guess this is a good time to move from 3.6 to 3.7
