cfbolz changed the topic of #pypy to: PyPy, the flexible snake (IRC logs: https://quodlibet.duckdns.org/irc/pypy/latest.log.html#irc-end ) | use cffi for calling C | if a pep adds a mere 25-30 [C-API] functions or so, it's a drop in the ocean (cough) - Armin

no, there is not yet a 3.6 to try. I will merge the PR in a bit to default, then to py3.6, so hopefully tomorrow's builds will work
<YannickJadoul>
:-) Thanks!

What a horrible packaging issue you need to deal with, though
<mattip>
the same person running our buildbot is also involved in the cpython one
<mattip>
but cpython's package statically binds libffi, the issue you linked to is a problem with debian/ubuntu cpython

I noticed, yes. But it's probably the same reason why the `brew install libffi` didn't fix the problem, if it installs a too new version
<mattip>
right
<pmp-p>
i think since 3.7 ctypes module links dynamically to system libffi not statically
<pmp-p>
so some prebuilt will fail indeed
