in your example the reference to the font file in the .svg file is an weburl, right? and you don't have the font installed on the server, right?

the .svg produced by my pil code (using @lib/svg.l with (pdf ...)) looks like: <svg><style type="text/css">@font-face { font-familiy: 'Font Name'; src: url("/home/beneroth/foo/font.tff")}</style><image ... [...] </svg>

Regenaxer, successfully got rsvg-convert to use (and embed!) the font when placing it in .fonts/ in the homedirectory (but not in .fonts in the execution directory). will now try with the full setup through pil
