<Nistur>
mornin' all
<Regenaxer>
Hi tankf33der, Nistur
<freemint>
Genera - lisp machine operating system by symbolics
<freemint>
Guten Morgen
<freemint>
Open Genera - an emulator of the Lisp machine
<Nistur>
is there documentation on the lisp machine hardware? I tried to find it at some point but struggled. I wanted to try to write an emulator myself :P
<freemint>
Which Lisp machine?
<Nistur>
any
<Nistur>
I wanted to see how lisp was implemented in hardware
<Regenaxer>
AFAIK, they never implemented Lisp in hardware. Only normal machines with optimized instruction set. Special instructions for types and Lisp data handling, then compiled Lisp for that architecture
<Regenaxer>
Like the pil VM
<Nistur>
ahh ok. tjat
<Nistur>
blugh. I can type, honest
<Nistur>
*that's why I couldn't find much information then
