what would cause a Reference to undefined global <mymodulename> when linking?
<
phubuh>
it started happening when i added a class to the module
<
Smerdyakov>
Hm... linking... how archaic ;-)
<
phubuh>
gah, this is weird
<
phubuh>
i don't get any compilation warnings or anything when i oh hey i forgot to link in the module, go me
<
Smerdyakov>
Doesn't OCaml have something like SML/NJ's compilation manager, so you don't need to think about these things?
<
phubuh>
i don't know, they do have a generic OcamlMakefile though

how is ocaml different from haskell family of languages ?
<
archie_sihir>
both are functional programming languages right ?
<
Smerdyakov>
They use mostly the same type system, but Haskell has lazy evaluation and ML eager.
<
Smerdyakov>
Haskell is also pure.
<
Smerdyakov>
While ML is not.
<
phubuh>
haskell places more emphasis on being 'correct', so to speak.
<
archie_sihir>
what is eager evaluation ??
smklsmkl has quit [Read error: 113 (No route to host)]
<
phubuh>
it evaluates things as quickly as possible, instead of waiting until you actually need to
<
Smerdyakov>
Evaluate a function parameter before passing it to a function, for example.
<
Smerdyakov>
In Haskell, the parameter is passed unevaluated and only evaluated when needed.
<
archie_sihir>
any app for ocaml for building web apps ?
<
phubuh>
there's a rudimentary CGI module, but i think that's it. i'm probably wrong though
<
phubuh>
strike the "rudimentary" part, ocamlnet's cgi is fully featured
