<jemfinch> anyone here?
<jemfinch> O'Caml's network stuff has a problem on Linux.
<jemfinch> or linux has a problem with network stuff :)
<graydon> how?
<jemfinch> well, the same code for my IRC bot works in a timely manner on FreeBSD, but not on linux.
<jemfinch> it's an asynchronous thread title lookup.
<graydon> code?
<graydon> and.. how exactly does it "not work" on linux?
<jemfinch> it would be really complicated and in depth, and would also probably prove me wrong.
<jemfinch> it takes a *long* time to work in lnux.
<jemfinch> er, linux.
<graydon> well, are you interested in finding the root of the problem?
<jemfinch> not especially...I don't have it in an isolated enough system at the moment.
<jemfinch> aside from that, I don't use Linux :)
<graydon> oh. well, not much to say about that then is there? :)
<jemfinch> not too much :)
<jemfinch> if I still have the problem with the new asynchronous networking framework on my bot, and I ever release it, then I'm sure it'll get solved quickly enough when someone decides to run on linux.
