the original 'deal' was that fab (global components) warrants yield - iirc. However such warranty is always a subject to investigation whose fault it is when something doesn't work as expected

of course the fab claims "you're using a different brand of PoP RAM, so that's the reason why we can't solder it anymore". I have a hard time buying that explanation, since the PoP chips don't differ in termal properies, also they all are totally rigid as far as relevant to warp issue. Actually we think it's the process they can't exactly duplicate from when they did last time, with different personal and machines
