suy: True. But I often log in days after somebody has said something!
<ddfreyne_>
Was considering switching to Gitter so I can get notifications when something happens…
<suy>
Argh, I hate gitter. :)
<suy>
The IRC bridge they provide is not very reliable
<ddfreyne_>
There’s also slack, but meh.
<ddfreyne_>
A long time ago, I started my own project to provide some alternative to IRC… but that was nearly 10 years ago, and it didn’t really go anywhere.

ddfreyne_: try quassel on a VPS
<warptangent>
connect with quasselclient from your counter for GUI
<warptangent>
computer :)
<suy>
Yep, I'm on quassel too. But unless he wants to have it open all the time, he wont have notifications, isn't it?
<suy>
I think I've read that ZNC has a module to send push notifications to phones, or similar
<warptangent>
yes, notifications separate from the client would require something else. quassel is good for letting you be able to catch up when you want from different locations though, connecting to the same quasselcore server

warptangent: Hmm, interesting. I am using weechat atm, running in a screen on my VPS.
<ddfreyne_>
But yes, I’m mainly interested in getting notifications (e-mail would work, too)
<ddfreyne_>
I guess I could write a bot that watches for activity in #nanoc (esp. mentioning me) and sending me an e-mail :D
