<snuep> I am interested in MirageOS trying to inform myself about: (1) What does the file system api look like? (2) Are memory mapped a files supported? I could not find an answer to this via https://mirage.io/docs/ , where should I look?

<composmin> hi all - Mindy mentioned a branch of mirage/mirage-skeleton called split-examples-from-tutorial . I'd like to help test it mirage-3 beta, but I can't see it in Github.
<composmin> any clues?

<gjaldon> how often does the mirage team hold the hack retreats? is it always held in marrakech?
<yomimono> there have also been mini-events in cambridge UK - once or twice in conjunction with ocaml compiler hacking
<yomimono> this hack retreat is the second one, both organized entirely by intrepid and considerate hannes :)
<gjaldon> ahh I see. so never in asia? I guess there are no mirage members in asia?
<gjaldon> sounds like a great initiative :)
<yomimono> engil is in singapore and I met a few people who'd tried it out in Japan, so I think there would be some interest :)
<hannes> gjaldon: want to join? book your flights now! :)
<yomimono> I have some interest in holding one in Canada but interest != action yet
<gjaldon> hannes: i'd love to join. :) i'll have to look through some flights first
<gjaldon> it's a bit far off from Philippines
<hannes> gjaldon: well, if you find some reasonable flights, let me know. there's sufficient crash space available (and I'd love to meet you in person!) :)
<gjaldon> hannes: will let you know if/when I book flights . it'd be great to meet you and other mirage peeps too! :)

<gjaldon> why are there blog posts for running mirage on cubieboard but not on raspberry pi?
<gjaldon> is it better to get a cubieboard than raspberry pi if you want to try running mirageos on it?
<pyvpx> I am not sure, but my guess is that the rpi has a bunch of binary blobs and poorly supported devices integrated into it.
<Drup> iirc, rpi doesn't have hardware virtualisation, so you can't run xen on it
<Drup> but you should be able to run solo5 fine
<gjaldon> Drup: great! I'm leaning more towards rpi since it's my first board and there are a lot more resources for it than the cubieboard
<gjaldon> resources outside of mirage, I mean
