<lvrp16> anyone able to run r7p0 on h5 without getting "Mali group: Executing recovery reset due to job failure"? I am using the same kernel driver for h3 and the blobs are ok on other platforms
<lvrp16> all the pixel cores just die: Mali PP: Hard reset of core Mali_PP0
<lvrp16> it renders but syslog gets a constant stream of those for each pixel core
<anarsoul> check gpu frequency
<anarsoul> is it overclocked?
<lvrp16> stock device
<lvrp16> i'll try lowering it

<montjoie> ahh without the sync flag, dd speed are huge better
<KotCzarny> how much?
<plaes> but you need to run the 'sync' anyway to make sure stuff gets written
<KotCzarny> but only at the end
<KotCzarny> not after every block
<KotCzarny> ie. add conv=fdatasync

<montjoie> KotCzarny: 100/150Mb/s so very huge diff but yes a final sync is needed
<montjoie> probably I will go using iozone or like
<KotCzarny> mbit or MB ?
<montjoie> MB
<montjoie> soory my shift was badly
<montjoie> I think that with ddmode=sync, only one cryptoengine stream (out of 4) is used
<KotCzarny> 100MB isnt bad
<KotCzarny> i say its very good
<KotCzarny> what crypto?

<anarsoul> quark_: cool
<anarsoul> did you rework your board?
<quark_> now I'm feeding vcc from 3.3V pin with jumper wire. if I get this properly working then have to see what is best option for vcc
<quark_> and eldo1 is currently disabled

<vagrantc> almost tablet-sized
AneoX has joined #linux-sunxi
<megi> though it will be more than twice as long as it will be wide
<megi> I guess it's hard to pack all those modules in, looking at how bulky the dev kit is
<megi> though I'm glad it looks like the most affordable of the current Linux phone attempts
<megi> by quite a wide margin
<megi> and it's sunxi :)
<kilobyte> SoPine sounds cool... it's quite old, but after a few years of work it has nice driver support
<kilobyte> compare to eg. Gemini -- Mediatek's crap is where you guys were when you started
DonkeyHotei has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds]
<megi> what would be quite interesting is if the next "sopine" based on some future SoC would be pin compatible and you could upgrade the phone by just swapping the modules
<megi> but I guess the module will probably be soldered in
<vagrantc> there are various attempts at doing that *sort* of thing ... e.g. eoma68
<megi> or perhaps it will not, given that it's double sided edge connector
<megi> hmm
<smaeul> what I'm wondering is how they plan to handle battery life, considering they explicitly say it'll be running mainline
<vagrantc> maybe they'll do the right thing and get some things fixed in mainline? :)
<megi> it' more like figuring out the firmware for the arisc, and especially suspend to ram
<megi> I believe the more easily hackable/open allwinner tablet/phone like devices will be out there the more people will get interested into looking into it
<smaeul> I have a firmware, and you have a firmware, but we both know neither of them are in a state to ship a phone with
<megi> yes
