<KotCzarny> willmore: i would order a few from you in different configurations, are you up to it? :)
<KotCzarny> also, hny!
<willmore> KotCzarny, I was looking into a similar thing for the ESP8266 boards, so I don't think it should be that difficult. Sadly, I have a few other projects in the queue before I could make you one.
<willmore> Step 1, find a generic clip design.
<willmore> Step 2, modify it for the dimensions. Step 3, add the holes for the pogos. Step 4, iterate the design until it prints and works properly.
<willmore> Note, Step 4 may take a long time.
<willmore> I have been tasked with redesigning the clips that hold the valance on the top of my mother-in-laws vertical blinds. Seems the existing ones became brittle and broke.
<KotCzarny> in springy part or the longitudal? (arms)
<KotCzarny> and since i'm not in a hurry, can i reserve a spot in your queue? ;)
<willmore> It's an L shaped bracket that clips onto the top guide rail and holds the valance vertically in front of that mechanism.
<willmore> KotCzarny, I'll pencil you in.
<willmore> 26 pin or all 40?
<KotCzarny> both, and 1x4 and 2x4
<willmore> 2x13 and 2x20?
<willmore> You in NA?
<KotCzarny> and maybe best if it could ne modular, ie able to insert required pins in some matrix and put fillers in unneeded ones
<KotCzarny> thebug is in NA so you could send to him and i'll make him send it to me ;)
<KotCzarny> with modular design it could be single clip with inserts
<willmore> Okay. I'll pay domestic shipping, but you'll have to make the bug spring for the big hop. :)
<KotCzarny> maybe even make it two sided that way
<KotCzarny> yeah, i can pay domestic too, i'm fine with usps etc ;)
<willmore> Or just a 2x20 clip that you only fill in the ones that you need. Cheaper that way.
<willmore> Let me look into it and get back to you.
<KotCzarny> and by two sided i meant pads on the both sides of the board
<willmore> Oh, you'll need to order the pogo pins. dx.com has a good selection of cheap ones. You'll want the little ones. Get a conical tip on them--don't get the crown design, those are for fitting over things.
<KotCzarny> to keep modular parts one could use nylon screws, so M3 holes
<willmore> KotCzarny, I've not seen a board that has different holes on the opposite sides... :)
<KotCzarny> oh, so you think about making it holes?
<KotCzarny> and just put pin by pin there?
<willmore> I was just looking at the design you linked to. That had pogos that fit into the holes of an unsoldered connector.
<KotCzarny> uhum
<willmore> Yep, you put in the pins you need. Secure them with a little CA glue.
<willmore> Or your choice of adhesive.
<KotCzarny> maybe magnet?
<willmore> Not strong enough.
<KotCzarny> or it's bad idea for electrical wires? ;)
<willmore> Magnets are fine. Static magnetic fields are safe. Changing ones not so much.
nvz has joined #linux-sunxi
<willmore> But, they'd be too weak here and the pogos might not be ferrous--they're likely copper or brass.
<willmore> The tiny springs in them might be steel.
<KotCzarny> uhum
<willmore> Let me see what can be done and I'll get back to you.
<KotCzarny> that's why i was thinking that there will be part that held them in after inserting into clip
<willmore> That's the glue.
<KotCzarny> glue imposes mess and static configs (opposed to modularity)
<KotCzarny> unless clips are cheap enough to have multiple
<willmore> They're traditionally sandwitched between two PCBs with properly spaced holes and soldered in to place.
<willmore> The clips would be pretty cheap as would the pins.

<kilobyte> speaking of advancing years, does anyone know what's going on with the time warp to 2113 bug?
<kilobyte> last time this was talked about, someone mentioned FSL_ERRATUM_A008585 and CONFIG_HISILICON_ERRATUM_161010101, but neither is applied on A64
soderstrom has joined #linux-sunxi
<kilobyte> < smaeul> martinayotte: btw I think FSL_ERRATUM_A008585 is designed for timers slower than ours. It chokes for me when I enable cpufreq
<kilobyte> the other (in drivers/clocksource/arm_arch_timer.c) differs by allowing a diff of up to 32, rather than up to 1
