<nlhowell> is anyone running mainline on the chromebook asus c101pa (google codename bob, rk3399)?
<DuClare> Any idea what txsrtune might stand for?
<nlhowell> DuClare: context?
<nlhowell> tx might be transmit
<DuClare> hsic (usb) interface
<DuClare> Hmm google finds some chinese
<DuClare> "output slew rate adjustment"
<nlhowell> transmit slew rate tuning, i guess
<nlhowell> from looking at the google results
<DuClare> Yep
<DuClare> All two of them :)

<nlhowell> hanetzer: I see; I tried building mainline based off the chromeos config file, and only got a black screen

<nlhowell> hanetzer: (and using the dts from mainline)
<nlhowell> did you use the same strategy?
<nlhowell> I read that I can maybe get a serial debugger by connecting to another machine by usb

<eballetbo[m]> nlhowell: did you try to use the default arm64 defconfig? Should just work
<eballetbo[m]> chromeos config has some symbols with different names
<hanetzer> nlhowell: yeah, my config is based on the arm64 defconfig from the sys-kernel/gentoo-sources package (with extra platforms like sunxi removed)

<guthwine> i have the rock64 running with kernel 5.0 rc 1, the lower usb 2 port is working, the upper one is buggy and usb 3 does not seem to work at all
<guthwine> anz ideas how to fix?
<guthwine> i guess editing the dtb could help, but I'm not familiar with that

<mmind00> guthwine: mainline usb3 on rk3328 is not done yet ... the rk3328 usb3phy has an issue detecting plugin-events after a previous devices was removed and nobody implemented that in a mainline compatble way yet
<anarsoul|2> mmind00: btw, usb2 doesn't work for me either on mainline on rock64 (rk3328)
<anarsoul|2> that's on 4.20
<anarsoul|2> hdmi doesn't work either :(
<guthwine> mmind00: and the upper usb2 port?, I also seem to have issues with USB devices beyond mouse and keyboard, like usb ethernet adapters
<guthwine> anarsoul: try 5.0
<guthwine> wprks for me
<anarsoul|2> hdmi or usb?
<guthwine> hdmi
<anarsoul|2> ok, thanks
<mmind00> anarsoul|2: the last hdmi parts only went in 5.0, so that is to be expected
<anarsoul|2> I see
<mmind00> one of the usb2 ports seems to go to the otg controller ... that _should_ work in theory
<anarsoul|2> my usb flash drive wasn't detected in either port
<guthwine> yes, i think it's the upper one, it at least detects if something is connected but the devices do not work
<mmind00> so it's like a generic-ehci on one port and dwc2 on the other, not sure if that broke along the way somewhere
* anarsoul|2 never had good experience with dwc2
<mmind00> I think nobody had
<aalm> on anything, i think

<mmind00> anarsoul|2: I remember kever talking about that here some days ago and pointing to his wip series on https://github.com/keveryang/u-boot/tree/rockchip
<mmind00> so it looks like it is in the works
<anarsoul|2> mmind00: thanks
