<stdint>
Esmil, oh, I move verified this patch with weston

<stdint>
I have verified that patch only with weston
<stdint>
the main problem of the Xorg, the arrow can't be moved out the range of the screen
<stdint>
but weston solve this problem with a larger axis than the screen
<stdint>
to be accurate, weston would disable the hwc layer when the arrow nears the left side
<stdint>
since a part of the arrow won't be show in that drm plane

<wens>
hmm, would it be possible to have the root plane (and all overlays) placed at some offset big enough for the hwc to be fully composited by the hardware
<wens>
and then let the hardware cut off the excess bits (using the offset)

wens, I think the method weston used is suited for the all platforms
<stdint>
and rockchip's hardware cursor only support fixed size

stdint: interesting. to be clear i like what the patch is doing and i'd love to switch to weston, but i don't think it's ok to break userspace as it does now

Esmil: correct ... breaking _any_ existing userspace is a big no (sometimes sadly) ... and X11 will likely be with us for a longer amount of time still
