<PabloPL> Hi. I'm having problem with bcm4329 driver on s5pv210 (Samsung i9000 aka Aries). I've added sdhci/wifi config to dts and now it fails with following error
<PabloPL> [ 598.793947] brcmfmac: brcmf_fw_map_chip_to_name: using brcm/brcmfmac4329-sdio.bin for chip 0x004329(17193) rev 0x000003
<PabloPL> [ 598.927598] brcmfmac: brcmf_c_process_clm_blob: no clm_blob available(err=-2), device may have limited channels available
<PabloPL> [ 598.918474] brcmfmac mmc0:0001:1: Direct firmware load for brcm/brcmfmac4329-sdio.clm_blob failed with error -2
<PabloPL> [ 598.916137] wake enabled for irq 151
<PabloPL> [ 598.936754] brcmfmac: brcmf_c_preinit_dcmds: Firmware version = wl0: Sep 2 2011 14:48:19 version 4.220.48
<PabloPL> [ 598.961701] brcmfmac: brcmf_setup_wiphybands: rxchain error (-52)
<PabloPL> It's on 4.16.0-rc3 kernel
<ahajda> Lack of firmware file?
<PabloPL> It's already there
<PabloPL> bin file and nvram from android
<PabloPL> /lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac4329-sdio.bin
<PabloPL> /lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac4329-sdio.txt
<PabloPL> First one is from arch linux arm which i'm currently booting from sdcard, second from lineageos/cyanogenmod git repos. Didn't tried yet to take firmware file from stock
<mszyprow> PabloPL: driver compiled in or module?
<mszyprow> PabloPL: if compiled in, the firmware also has to be compiled in
<PabloPL> module
<mszyprow> try with the firmware which was shipped with the phone / extracted from android image
<PabloPL> ok
<mszyprow> I know that some brcm hw fails with the firmware from linux-firmware, but works fine with older one shipped with android
<PabloPL> hm...on stock there are few firmware files
<PabloPL> ./system/bin/BCM4329B1_002.002.023.0746.0832.hcd
<PabloPL> ./system/etc/wifi/bcm4329_aps.bin
<PabloPL> ./system/etc/wifi/bcm4329_mfg.bin
<PabloPL> ./system/etc/wifi/bcm4329_sta.bin
<PabloPL> ./system/vendor/firmware/bcm4329.hcd
<PabloPL> tried fw from lineageos, one more error
<PabloPL> brcmfmac: brcmf_c_set_joinpref_default: Set join_pref error (-52)
<PabloPL> brcmfmac: brcmf_c_preinit_dcmds: Firmware version = wl0: Dec 20 2010 19:21:39 version 4.218.248.18
<mszyprow> PabloPL: are you sure the brcm chip is reset properly?
<mszyprow> PabloPL: do you have mmc pwrseq in dts?
<PabloPL> yes
<PabloPL> I hope there are not many errors in dts...
<PabloPL> I'm looking at board files from 3.0.86 and schematic
<mszyprow> PabloPL: clock for brcm?
<mszyprow> PabloPL: it should be similar to i9300, which is in mainline
<mszyprow> (but I didn't check the schematic, just another random idea)
<PabloPL> m0 or that new patches (not yet commited) for s3/note 2 (or something like this)?
<mszyprow> yea
<mszyprow> trats2/m0/i9300 are almost the same
<PabloPL> only aries/i9000 is without mainline support ;)

<mszyprow> PabloPL: feel free to submit your work to mainline then ;)

<PabloPL> mszyprow: In schematic i see 32KHZ_AP coming out from pmic (max8998) to bt_wifi (it's spliting and also coming to gps and fm), but i don't see in max8998 driver anything for it
<mszyprow> max8998 might lack that part
<mszyprow> but 32KHZ is only used by BT part of that chip
<mszyprow> so it should not have any inpact on wifi
<mszyprow> if max8998 doesn't expose any control for that clock, then it is probably enabled all the time by default
<PabloPL> i wonder how much difference is between goni and aries (goni has uboot). Playing with heimdall/odin and switichig between usb/jig is taking time :/
<mszyprow> PabloPL: goni has additional connector for uart :)
<mszyprow> PabloPL: like most of the dev versions of the samsung mobiles
<PabloPL> and anyway for flashing
