<memeka>
It started after the buffered mmap patches, but there were a couple more patches I added at the same time (w/o affecting MFC tho)
<memeka>
All extra patches are rebased on 4.14-rc7, they’re easy to follow
<mszyprow^>
ah, now I see
<mszyprow^>
I expected them on top ;)
<forkbomb>
mszyprow^: does the trats2 panel work reliably on 4.13?
<forkbomb>
i tried it on my GT-i9300, it works for a few seconds, but then the screen stops working, and just shows purple lines
<memeka>
mszyprow^: I rearrange them after my own crazy logic :))
<memeka>
The ones on top(sound) are shit, easier to work on
<mszyprow^>
memeka: if we are talking about sound, Sylwester has posted mainline-style driver for XU3 and XU4 some time ago, with proper support for both HDMI audio and MAX codec
<mszyprow^>
forkbomb: frankly I didn't test trats2 for over a year
<forkbomb>
heh, ok
<forkbomb>
is there someone that has looked at it more recently? or will i have to do some digging?
<mszyprow^>
forkbomb: but I remember there were some issues after adding DSI driver for Exynos5433
<forkbomb>
ok, i guess i'll start there, thanks
<memeka>
mszyprow^: is not working on xu4
<forkbomb>
mszyprow^: do you know much about the trats2 bootloader setup? does s-boot boot u-boot? or is u-boot the only bootloader?
<memeka>
I mean not the one in mainline
<mszyprow^>
forkbomb: my Trats2 uses s-boot -> u-boot -> Linux kernel boot chain
<mszyprow^>
forkbomb: but the s-boot is not the same version as the one on retail GT-i9300
<forkbomb>
yes, i guessed that :P
<forkbomb>
I don't think the retail one can boot u-boot, even if you pack it in an android boot.img
<mszyprow^>
I think it was even released in some old platform/boot images on Tizen.org
<forkbomb>
yeah, I downloaded one somewhere
<forkbomb>
I just haven't been brave enough to try flashing it
<forkbomb>
thanks for the info :)
<memeka>
mszyprow^: i think all sound patches made it into mainline, and HDMI (xu4) is not working
<mszyprow^>
memeka: it require some dts changes
<mszyprow^>
memeka: not sure if Sylwester posted a version which applies to current mainline tree
<mszyprow^>
memeka: I will ask him once he comes to the office
<memeka>
mszyprow^: nope i did not see on samsung-soc-linux as well anything
<memeka>
thanks
<memeka>
i re-did hardkernel's driver. but it's very ugly
<memeka>
and it's funny cause i couldn't make it work (it was recognized but i could not hear sound on my system) but others said it's working :))

memeka: I've pushed dts update patches for Odroid XU4 audio support to for-v4.16/dts-odroid-audio branch in git://linuxtv.org/snawrocki/samsung.git git repository
<snawrocki>
memeka: the DRM patch is already queued for v4.15-rc1, but the dts patches need to wait for v4.16, I'm going to post them after v4.15-rc1 is released
<memeka>
Thanks snawrocki
