If al-qaeda did it, why go to kill 2 million Iraqi?
<kpodkqwd>
*constant flow of oil, which price is in continuous decline. Trump said he will simply take the Iraqi oil, and when he was told that Iraqi oil belongs to iraq he said there is no iraq(after usa destroyed it ).
<kpodkqwd>
*Invasion of afghanstan with construction of not less than 14 american military base which give a close eye on china.
<kpodkqwd>
*Removal of potential threat to isreal represented in iraq which throw isreal with more than 30 rocket after American assault on iraq during 2nd gulf war.
<kpodkqwd>
So oil was the motive of the crime….
<kpodkqwd>
Did Usa ambassador at iraq implicitly encourage Saddam Hussien to invade kwuit?
<kpodkqwd>
Usa used al-qaeda against soviet union. Did Usa continue to use it against others in the world, did usa use al-qaeda against moderate muslims?

I'm having issues with openssl: `OpenSSL::PKey::EC.new('secp256k1').group => nil`(in 9.1.7) while in ruby 2.3.1 it returns `OpenSSL::PKey::EC::Group` instance. :(

I am having a hard time figuring this out from release notes and Google, so I'm asking here:
<zofrex>
how solid is Ruby 2.0 support in JRuby 1.7.x? I know it's "experimental" in 1.7.4, but is it production ready in later versions of 1.7?
<zofrex>
or if we need production-ready 2.0 compatibility, is JRuby 9000 the only sensible option?

<chrisseaton>
You need JRuby 9000 really
<chrisseaton>
You should use JRuby 9000 in any case - 1.7 is going to be unsupported soon
<chrisseaton>
(I know it isn't always easy to upgrade though)
alex0ptr has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds]
<zofrex>
yeah, we use Torquebox, so...
<zofrex>
upgrading to 9000 isn't a fantastic option right now (my understanding is that requires TB 4.0, which is still in beta)

ah-ha
<zofrex>
I missed some news, that Torquebox 3.x latest version is on JRuby 9000, not JRuby 3.x
<zofrex>
so there *is* a stable upgrade path for TB to have JRuby 9000
<zofrex>
this is excellent

im trying import com.jcraft.jzlib from a Java extension to JRuby, but getting no such package from the java compiler
<ericuspiceworks>
I've got the JRuby jar file on the classpath of the java compiler invocation, and those classes are in the jar. Is there something I don't understand about it ?

<ericuspiceworks>
opps, sorry
<ericuspiceworks>
ok, I can't import com.headius.invokebinder either.
<ericuspiceworks>
so clearly I've done something wrong.
<enebo>
ericuspiceworks: you are mentioning the names of packages and not classes for import (java_import). Is your question literla?
<ericuspiceworks>
yes, the question is literal "import com.jcraft.jzlib;" gives me error: package com.jcraft does not exist
<enebo>
ericuspiceworks: are you asking a Java or Ruby question? in Ruby you need to specify a particular class/interface for Java you need to add a .* on the end
<ericuspiceworks>
Java
<enebo>
ericuspiceworks: add .* onto that import line
<enebo>
ericuspiceworks: although it is possible you are having an issue seeing the package
<ericuspiceworks>
ah ok "import com.jcraft.jzlib.InflaterInputStream;" brings what I wanted into scope

headius: will do! will probably move over a small and non-critical service first to test the waters, then introduce an instance of the giant-rails-app-of-dooooom to the new TB if I can figure out LBing between that and the existing instances, to have a safety net :)
