<ragesoss> that's the reason I bought this device instead of some other ARM stick: I was pretty confident I could get Debian up and running thanks to your work.
<ragesoss> I've been using it as my quassel server; today makes a full month of uptime.
<projectgus> awesome :)
<projectgus> yeah mine's been my home server for 7 months now, only downtime has been when I've taken it down
<ragesoss> yeah, I also have transmission-daemon on it, and then stream videos to various devices. works wonderfully.
<projectgus> nice
<projectgus> otavio may have some more advice on where imx6 kernel development is at in general
<projectgus> there's 3.12 here that looks like it's being kept up to date https://github.com/Freescale/linux-mainline
<projectgus> but you'd still need to take the imx6-dongle patches for that particular hardware and merge them in
<ragesoss> I guess it's about time I figured out how to do that sort of thing.

<projectgus> ragesoss: it may be quite substantial work depending on how much things have changed. the 3.0.35 kernel doesn't use devicetree, for example
<projectgus> still a good learning experience :)
<projectgus> otavio might be able to give you some indication of how much effort it's likely to be
<otavio> the best base for work, at this moment, is 3.10.9-1.0.0 alpha
<otavio> as this is the base for next GA kernel release
<otavio> and easy the port for future kernel releases as they all are going to base on device tree
<projectgus> thanks otavio :)
<projectgus> what's the preferred place to get that from?

<hste> jas-hacks_: any news about udoo?
<jas-hacks_> hste: no haven't back from them
<hste> jas-hacks_: so playing with utilite kernel?
<jas-hacks_> when I get time ...
<jas-hacks_> is gk802 working?
<hste> yes its working ok now :)
<jas-hacks_> you must find the ethernet on the C1 is much better?
<hste> Played with bootparam -devmem2 0x021b0818 w 0x0 wich turns off odt. Feel it runs faster with it. http://pastebin.com/VmGcDBBB
<hste> yes it is much better
<hste> usbdongle for eth on gk802 isn't that stable
<jas-hacks_> that's interesting the ODT value, how did you find it?
<hste> its from rabeeh :)
<jas-hacks_> any variation in heat output?
<hste> I can't tell. looks same
<jas-hacks_> So you clocked to 1.2GHz
<hste> yes
<jas-hacks_> :)
<hste> the temp doesn't diff on 1.2
<hste> its the gpu that creates the heat
<jas-hacks_> surprising these SOC's don't have on-board GPU memory
<hste> but I think it use a bit more power so usb gets more unstable when not running powered hub
<hste> and wifi doesn't work for me when running at 1.2
<hste> jas-hacks_: turn off ODT isn't stable on gk802. A lot of init messages on dmesg
<jas-hacks_> I wasn't going to try it
<hste> tried gstreamer 1.2?
