<leowt> what is the status of imx6 kernel? is it fully mainlined?
paulk-collins has joined #imx6-dev
<dv_> leowt: getting there
<dv_> vpu is partially mainlined
<dv_> ipu, well the hdmi stuff is, the blitter, not yet
<dv_> (lack of a suitable API is the general problem)=
<leowt> do you know of any "cheap" imx6 board with emmc/nand, hdmi and eth? so far i found savage board, is there any other you recommend?
<adj> leowt, imx6 boards are not cheap, and savage board seems to be the cheaper (at least comparing with the most known: wandboard, riotboard, hummingboard, novena, sabre lite...
<adj> i didn't know about savage board, any experience with it?
<leowt> i tried to find some "generic" chinese ones but no luck
<leowt> adj, im going to buy one to try it out
<leowt> seems good
<leowt> i am just testing gk802 dongle
<leowt> the only thing i have to test imx6 platform right now
<leowt> untill now i could only find the raspberrypi to get ok with qt5+gstreamer
<leowt> but i wanted emmc/flash
<leowt> then i saw somewhere that imx6 was ok with gstreamer and qt
<leowt> it maybe my last choice after many trials
<adj> do you know the license of the hardware? it says that schematics, layout and gerber files are available, but i didn't find nothing about the license
<leowt> vpeter, thats not imx
<leowt> adj, not only the gerber but it seems the full project files
<adj> yes, what i said, also the cad files
<leowt> pcblayout
<leowt> etc

<adj> vpeter, does lemaker piano have a imx6? that's what leowt was asking about
<adj> also it seems to have a bad supported system in mainline linux
<aholler> the savage quad just has 1gb ram, so you might like one of the others if you're going quad
<leowt> i just want simple qt5 and gstreamer
<adj> sorry, the piano seems to have im6
<adj> imx6
<leowt> mayb a single core will be enough to handle that
<leowt> ram is more than enough
<vpeter> adj: LeMaker Piano - An industrial grade single board computer based on Freescale i.MX6 Solo, Dual or Quad
<vpeter> But not yet available.
<leowt> this one?
<leowt> seems ok
<leowt> but there is no price listed
<vpeter> not yet.
<leowt> that article on cnx says $25 for the lemaker guitar
<leowt> this was posted today!!
<leowt> :D
<vpeter> Yes, but this is a different soc.
<adj> yes, guitar has a different soc with powervr
<adj> savage board looks very good
<adj> the quad has a better gpu and sata
<leowt> vpeter, i know, i was refering to the news
<adj> and the audio codec is probably supported in mainline linux
<leowt> with so many io and dual/quad, it will probably be more expensive than savageboard
<adj> i meant the quad savageboard
<adj> if you find the licence of the hardware design, please post it hear!
<leowt> its here
<leowt> first pages
<leowt> i dont know if that is refered to the document or to all of the content
<leowt> all docs have this license
